Bookmark Moments in Twitch, YouTube and Kick VODs

Twitch YouTube Kick

Mark the moments worth coming back to. One click, or Alt+M, saves the moment with an optional note and shows it as a pin on the seekbar. It works on VODs and live streams, and you can share a video's markers with a single link.

How do you bookmark a moment in a Twitch VOD?

Twitch gives viewers no way to do it - its stream markers are for the broadcaster and their editors. Previews adds a VOD Markers button to the player controls: click it, or press Alt+M, and the moment is saved with an optional note. Each marker shows as a pin on the seekbar; click a pin to jump straight back.

The same button works on YouTube videos and Kick VODs. Hover it for the video's marker list, where you can edit a note, delete a marker, and search once the list grows. Pins that sit close together merge into one pin with a count and fan out when you hover them, so a long VOD with many markers stays readable.

Can you mark moments during a live stream?

Yes. Markers you add during a live stream keep the stream's own time, so they line up with its VOD later. On YouTube the live stream becomes the video itself, so your markers are already there afterwards. On Twitch and Kick, open the VOD once it is published and attach your live markers to it in one click.

That makes it practical to mark highlights as they happen - a clutch round, a funny moment, the start of a segment - and come back to exactly those points later instead of scrubbing through hours of video. You can also attach live markers by pasting the VOD's link into the marker list.

How do you share timestamps with a friend?

Press Share in a video's marker list and Previews copies one short link. A friend with Previews who opens it gets your markers as pins on that VOD, in a different color from their own. Without the extension, the link opens a page that lists each marker with a link to its moment.

Your markers stay in your browser.
Adding, editing or deleting a marker uploads nothing. They leave your browser only when you choose: Share sends that video's markers - their times and notes, with the video's title and channel - to the Previews server so the link works, and a cloud settings backup includes them if you select them. Sharing needs no account.

Where can you see all your markers?

All my markers lists every video you have marked, across Twitch, YouTube and Kick, in one place. Open it from the marker list or from the VOD Markers row in the settings. Search by note, title or channel, open a video at any marker, or copy a video's markers as a plain list of timestamps.

Copy as timestamps gives one line per marker in the familiar 1:02:03 format, with the note after it - ready for a chat message or a video description. Pasted into the description or a comment of the same YouTube video, YouTube turns them into clickable timestamps.

Where VOD Markers work
Platform VODs and videos Live streams Share links
Twitch Yes Yes, attached to the VOD in one click Yes
YouTube Yes Yes, on the video once the stream ends Yes
Kick Yes Yes, attached to the VOD in one click Yes
Marking a moment and getting back to it are a pair.
On a live stream, Seek & Rewind steps back through the buffer to the moment you just missed - then mark it.

Is it useful for video editors and clippers?

Yes. Editors and clippers can mark highlights while they watch, live or on the VOD, with a note on each - no editor access to the channel needed, unlike Twitch's own stream markers. Copy as timestamps then gives a clean list of moments to cut from, and Share hands the same list to the rest of the team.

Frequently asked questions

Can the streamer see my markers?

No. Your markers are stored in your own browser and are not added to the channel or the video. Nobody sees them unless you share a link.

Do my markers sync between devices?

Not automatically. Settings export and import in Previews includes your markers, so you can move them to another browser or computer.

Can I change the keyboard shortcut?

Yes. Alt+M is the default; use the edit-shortcut button in the VOD Markers row of the settings to pick another key.

Does it work on YouTube Shorts?

No. VOD Markers is for regular YouTube videos and live streams, and for Twitch and Kick VODs and live streams.

Does the person I share with need Previews?

No. Without Previews the link opens a page listing your markers, each linked to its moment in the video. With Previews they also appear as pins on the seekbar.
