Previews
Previews is a free browser extension for Twitch, YouTube, and Kick that adds live hover previews to every channel in your sidebar - so you can see what's happening on a stream before you click. On top of that, it bundles features streamers and viewers have requested over the years: a Sidebar Favorites list at the top of your sidebar, a FlashBang Defender for late-night streams, Auto Refresh on Player Errors (#1000, #2000, #3000, #4000, #5000), Auto Set Player Quality, Prevent Auto Video Quality Change in the background, keyboard arrow-key seeking, fast-forward to live, voice typing in chat, a Predictions Sniper, an Auto Channel Points Clicker, a built-in Multi-Stream & Multi-Chat, Picture-in-Picture, a Clip Downloader, fullscreen with chat overlay, and a unified sidebar that shows your live YouTube and Kick channels right inside Twitch.
Built and actively maintained since February 2020. Privacy-friendly (no data collection, no ads). Translated into 7 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, and Korean.
The features users mention most in reviews:
Hover over any streamer in the sidebar, directories, or clips and see a live video or image preview. Adjustable size and audio.
A dedicated Favorites list at the top of the sidebar for the streamers you actually care about. Optional custom categories, plus offline visibility.
For when it's 2 AM and the streamer opens a white browser tab. One click dims the player so your eyes survive.
Automatically refreshes the player when errors #1000, #2000, #3000, #4000, or #5000 happen. No more dead streams.
Forces the video to your selected quality on every page load and channel change, with a fallback if your first choice isn't available.
Stops the video from sliding to 160p when you switch tabs. Also kills 99% of #1000 and #2000 errors before they happen.
One-click jump back to the live edge - perfect when the stream is delayed or the buffer pulled you behind. Shows in player controls.
Use SHIFT + left/right arrow keys to seek 5 seconds back or forward through the buffer. Keyboard shortcuts are customizable in settings.
Click the mic icon to dictate your messages - speech-to-text powered by AI. Multi-language support.
A few seconds before each prediction closes, the sniper picks the option leading in votes - based on configurable rules for bet size, max points, vote-margin, and timing.
Watch and chat across multiple Twitch, YouTube, and Kick channels at once. Save layout presets and switch between them on the fly.
Download Twitch clips straight from the player controls. No third-party sites, no waiting.
On YouTube, Previews adds hover previews to live channels in the sidebar, jumps you straight to the live stream instead of the channel home page, and brings the same multi-stream and picture-in-picture features you get on Twitch.
Kick.com is one of the fastest-growing streaming platforms - and Previews brings the same hover previews, sidebar favorites, multi-stream, and player upgrades you'd expect on Twitch.
Yes - Previews is free to install and use on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Previews has a built-in Auto Refresh on Player Errors feature that automatically refreshes the Twitch player when these errors happen. The companion Prevent Auto Video Quality Change feature stops 99% of #1000 and #2000 errors before they occur - Twitch triggers them when it tries to lower video quality on tabs in the background.
Twitch automatically reduces video quality when a tab is in the background. Previews includes a Prevent Auto Video Quality Change feature that stops this from happening, plus an Auto Set Player Quality feature that enforces your preferred quality on every channel and page load.
Yes. Most keyboard shortcuts in Previews - including SHIFT + arrow keys for seeking, fullscreen with chat, and others - are customizable in the extension settings. Click the Previews icon in your browser toolbar and look for the small keyboard icon next to applicable features.

FlashBang Defender is a player button that toggles a dimming overlay on top of the video - for late-night viewing when streamers open a white screen, browser, or document and blast your eyes.
The Predictions Sniper automatically participates in Twitch channel-point predictions for you. A few seconds before a prediction closes, it picks the option with the most votes - based on configurable rules for bet percentage, max points, minimum vote margin, and timing.
